Constructed in the early period of Chiang Mai,
Wat Chiang Man is the oldest temple within the compound of the old City Wall. King Mengrai has developed his Wiang Lek residence into the royal temple and built the Chang Lom Pagoda near his chamber. Chiangmai Temple Chiang Man is, therefore, significant as the first royal temple in the city. It was built in 1306.Chiangmai Temple Chedi Luang is an old pagoda dating back over 600 years. The first constructed was in 1391 during the reign of King "Saen Muang Ma" while construction was going on the passed away. Pagoda has been finished in 1402
